It is remarkable sailing into the port of Ville Franche to see the villas and shops scattered along the hillside. The drive along the highway, is spectacular! At times it seems the bus is barely hanging on the edge of the road as you look down the cliff side to the town below. We make our way to what is affectionately called "The Rock".
The twisting highway arrives into Monaco, once the home to Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier. The small principality of Monaco is still celebrating the recent marriage of it's current Prince, Albert and his beautiful wife this past summer. Here one can observe the beautiful church and former residence of the Grimaldi family who conquered the area to claim it from France.
Not far down the road is Monte Carlo where you can pass the time simply people watching, or gambling. You can race along the Formula 1 Grand Prix route to reach the Casino Square. Here you can relax by having a glass of local wine and enjoy the scenic view of the gardens.
